Cytotax Treatment Not Approved by FDA
An organization called Botanic Sources has claimed that a botanical product called Cytotax is a treatment for PKD, offering a one-a-day pill for purchase. The company says it uses herbal remedies to “heal” PKD patients.
The PKD Foundation is not aware of any scientific evidence that supports Cytotax’s claims. Experts from our Scientific Advisory Committee are highly skeptical that a treatment has been achieved, in light of the substantial technological, biological and immunological hurdles that must be overcome.
“None of these ingredients have been shown to affect PKD in any animal model or in humans. The FDA has not approved this formulation for the treatment of PKD,” said Dr. Ron Perrone, Chairman of the PKD Foundation Scientific Advisory Committee.
The PKD Foundation does not recommend purchasing or using this treatment. As with any situation regarding your medical care, always consult your doctor or health care team before making changes to your healthcare regimen.
