Action Alert:
Tell the U.S. Senate that More NIH Funding is Important!
You recently signed up to receive more information about ways to help Americans suffering from kidney disease. On the week of October 15, the U.S. Senate will vote on legislation that will give more than $1 billion in additional funding to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), boosting the overall NIH budget to more than $29 billion. This money will go toward vital research to find treatments and cures for dozens of diseases, including kidney diseases like Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD).
Tell you Senators that the extra funding is important! Tell them to vote for H.R. 3043, the Labor-Health-Education Appropriations Spending Bill for FY 2008. Only by investing more funding in disease research can breakthroughs in treatments be achieved.
There are two quick and easy ways to contact your Senators:
- Call the Capitol Hill Switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and ask to speak to your Senators (or call them directly).
- Fax or E-Mail your Senators a letter. Click here (DOC) to download a sample letter you can send.
