ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Applicants must have an M.D. or Ph.D. degree and hold a faculty appointment at the institution where the research will be conducted.  Applicants need not be United States citizens. Only one PKD Foundation award of any type may be held by an individual or laboratory at any given time. Applicants must have approved IRB and animal use protocols, if required by the project. Signed and dated copies of these forms must by provided to the PKD Foundation before funding can occur.

 

PROJECT CRITERIA
The Translational Research Program is viewed by the PKD Foundation as a unique opportunity to support extraordinarily promising research, development and application in the area of PKD therapeutics.  In order for proposed projects to be considered for funding, they must:
  Demonstrate that the proposed project holds significant potential for accelerating the translation of evidence-based research results into an effective clinical intervention;
  Be framed by a program plan of realistic goals and measurable milestones;
  Describe a management plan capable of assuring that program goals and milestones are achieved;
  Be led and conducted by scientists and clinicians committed to, and capable of, achieving those goals and milestones; and
 Be highly meritorious scientifically.
