ABOUT OUR EVENT
It’s a fun, family-friendly event. Bring the kiddos (strollers welcome) and furry friends (dogs must be on a leash). Enjoy FREE coffee, water and snacks before heading out on the 2.8 mile (5k) walk around the lake. It’s a flat, easy trail with plenty of park benches, restrooms and water fountains along the route.
Prior to the start, mingle with fellow walkers while a clown makes balloon animals for the kids. There will be music and a few short stretches to get us warmed up. (We walk rain or shine!) And you won’t want to miss Opening Remarks by Bruce Yates – a PKD patient who has undergone a transplant and still lives an active lifestyle. He is an avid diver and shoots underwater photography. In fact, one of his snaps of a shark is on display in the Smithsonian in Washington DC! Now that’s living with PKD!
It takes about 1 hour to complete the walk. When you cross the finish line, we’ll be waiting for you with a goody bag and a photographer to capture the moment! Then grab a slice of pizza and celebrate with all of those fighting to END PKD!

Fight PKD Head On – Take the 20/20 Vision Challenge
As those affected by PKD, our vision of the future is clear – AN END TO PKD! That’s why we’re taking the 20/20 Vision Challenge and asking 20 friends to donate $20 each. Join us—it’s easy and effective.
Do you know 20 people you can ask for $20 each? Of course you do! All you need to do now is reach out and ask them to make an investment towards a future free of PKD. With this simple request alone, you can raise $400 to help find treatments and a cure for PKD.
The impact of our 20/20 Vision can truly change lives! Last year, if all 12,000 Walk participants had taken the 20/20 Vision Challenge and raised $400 each, nearly $5 million could have been raised for PKD research and education.
Make 2011 the year we all join the 20/20 Vision Challenge and exceed our goal of raising $2.5 million to find treatments and a cure for PKD. Join us as we fight PKD and WIN!
