Volunteer Team

Recruitment Leader

The Recruitment Leader is responsible for finding volunteers to participate in or lead Chapter activities and initiatives. He or she will recruit volunteers through the local Chapter, community organizations and Internet postings. The recruitment leader must work closely with the Cultivation Leader and other Chapter leaders to ensure Chapter events have enough volunteers. Cultivation Leader

The Cultivation Leader must maintain an up-to-date list of all Chapter volunteers, communicating with them regularly throughout the year. He or she will work with volunteers to find appropriate positions for them and ensure they are satisfied with their work. The Cultivation Leader will work closely with the Recruitment Leader. Education Team

Logistics Leader

The Logistics Leader is responsible for organizing the logistics for the Chapter meetings and educational seminars. This includes securing locations, refreshments, presentation equipment and set-up. Program Leader

The Program Leader is responsible for contacting and securing speakers and topics for Chapter educational events. He or she will provide all necessary information to speakers, coordinating all aspects of their appearance. The Program Leader will work with Chapter leaders to develop ideas and brainstorm sources. Support Leader

The Support Leader must provide support and information to those affected by PKD. This includes leading support group sessions, maintaining a calling tree and offering support when contacted by members of the PKD community. Advocacy Team

Champion Leader

The Champion Leader will serve as the point person for the Chapter in PKD Foundation advocacy activities at the federal level. He or she will also be a liaison between the PKD Foundation staff and Chapter members. This includes encouraging Chapter members to take part in action alerts, seeking out local opportunities to engage and educate congressmen about PKD, serving as a “sounding board” for Chapter members and relaying their comments and questions to the PKD Foundation staff. The Champion Leader must participate and promote the annual “PKD Champions United on the Hill” event. Grass Roots Leader

The Grass Roots Leader will work with the Champions Leader to promote and relay information about PKD Foundation advocacy activities among Chapter members. He or she must seek opportunities to raise awareness of the PKD Foundation advocacy activities with elected state and local officials, working with them to pass PKD Awareness Week Resolutions or Proclamations. The Grass Roots Leader will staff the “Advocacy Booth” to promote advocacy at Chapter activities and events, following up with interested parties to increase involvement in advocacy efforts. Fundraising Team

Administration Leader
The Administration Leader will oversee the completion of all forms related to the holding of Chapter events. These include deposit, reimbursement and event forms. The Administration Leader will ensure that all PKD Foundation policies are followed during the planning and execution of Chapter events. He or she will work with Chapter leaders to identify possible Chapter events and coordinate the use of PKD Foundation tools and techniques. Monetary Sponsorship Leader

The Monetary Sponsorship leader must solicit and secure monetary sponsorship for the Chapter and its events. He or she will develop and maintain a list of past and potential sponsor contacts in the area. The Monetary Sponsorship leader will submit and follow up on sponsorship proposals, ensuring that sponsor agreements are met. In-Kind Sponsorship Leader

The In-Kind Sponsorship Leader will solicit and secure in-kind donations for the Chapter and its events. He or she will develop and maintain a list of past and potential in-kind sponsors in the area. Public Relations/Awareness Team

Media Leader

Public Outreach Leader
