  • Plx5568: A Phase II clinical trial is planned by Roche for this drug made by Plexikkon that has been shown to block cell proliferation in pre-clinical testing.  Phase I studies evaluating the drug’s safety, dosage and  side effects in healthy volunteers has been completed.
  • Roscovitine is a drug that blocks cell proliferation and is currently being tested in cancer trials and pre-clinical studies for PKD in cystic mice.
  • Pioglitazone is a drug that blocks cell proliferation and is being tested in pre-clinical studies for PKD in cystic mice. 
  • Reversin is a drug that has been shown to restore kidney function in advanced cystic disease in pre-clinical studies.
  • Stem cells from human embryos are being tested as a means to restore kidney function in pre-clinical studies for PKD in cystic mice.
