Research Grants

For decades, the PKD Foundation has funded research first aimed identifying pathways and compounds involved in cyst growth and enlargement. As these became known, research funding became more focused on identifying treatments to target these pathways and compounds to slow disease progression and treat associated complications of the disease, such as high blood pressure.

Under the new integrated research and development program, the Scientific Advisory Committee and Drug Development Advisory Group will work together to evaluate the current progress of PKD science and identify gaps in knowledge. They will develop a research agenda and prioritize PKD Foundation research funding in the future.

The PKD Foundation supports targeted grants that show promise for accelerating treatments to patients and core grants for facilities and/or services that will benefit PKD researchers.

Targeted Grants

Currently, the PKD Foundation is not funding any new grants in 2011 but hopes to  have a targeted program in place in 2012.

Core Grants

The PKD Foundation is continuing funding for two core grants in 2011.
