The American Association of Kidney Patients (AAKP) has named Dr. Theodore Steinman as one of the recipients of the 2012 Medal of Excellence Award.

Dr. Grantham is the recipient of the American Society of Nephrology's John P. Peters Award, given to individuals "who have made substantial research contributions to the discipline of nephrology and have sustained achievements in one or more domains of academic medicine including clinical care, education and leadership."
