Wrapping up an exciting year.

The PKD Foundation welcomes former Utah Senator Robert Bennett and ARPKD expert Dr. Lisa Guay-Woodford as the newest members of the Board of Trustees.

The Public Health Service (PHS) has initiated a new guideline to discard any transplanted organ at risk of blood borne infection, which could result in organs being discarded unnecessarily.

Gary G. Godsey, the new President and CEO of the PKD Foundation, is featured in a special nonprofit educational video series, Expert Guidance on Nonprofit Management. 

The American Society of Nephrology held its annual meeting November 8-13, 2011 in Philadelphia, PA. The PKD Foundation sponsored a post-graduate education course on Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease. 

The PKD Foundation supports the spending bill for Fiscal Year 2012 that provides the National Institutes of Health (NIH) with a funding increase to support its critical work. 

According to research presented at the American Society for Cell Biology Annual Meeting, the hormone relaxin improved kidney function and blood flow in lab rats genetically altered to model PKD.
