Dr. Patricia Gabow, an expert in the forefront of PKD research, was one of the recipients of the 25th anniversary Bonfils Stanton Award, also known as the Colorado Nobel Prize. Dr. Gabow is on the ground floor of PKD research with Dr. Jared Grantham, co-founder of the PKD Foundation.

The immunosuppressive drug sirolimus considerably improves the kidney health of patients with autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD), according to a study appearing in an upcoming issue of the Journal of the American Society Nephrology (JASN).

A hormone mimic called Octreotide may be effective for treating polycystic liver disease (PLD) caused by ADPKD, according to a study appearing in an upcoming issue of the Journal of the American Society Nephrology (JASN). The study is the first clinical trial performed in the United States to test the effects of this agent in PLD.
