December E-News

December 28, 2011 |  Foundation News

We wish you and your family the very best this holiday season! And as the end of the year approaches, we also want to thank you for your continued support. We have made great strides this year and will continue doing so in 2012. We are moving forward with "Accerelating Treatments to Patients" in an effort to develop treatments for PKD.

But this isn't possible without people like you! Help us end the year on a high note by
making a gift today. You'll be supporting PKD research and making a difference in the lives of 12.5 million people.

New Guideline May Deprive Recipients of Lifesaving Organs
The Public Health Service (PHS) has initiated a new guideline to discard any transplanted organ at risk of blood borne infection, which could result in organs being discarded unnecessarily. The PKD Foundation believes patients in need of organ transplants may be better served to accept an organ with a very small risk of infection transmission rather than wait longer for a perfect organ.
