Bay Area Folks Well Represented at the 2008 Walk for PKD
in Sacramento

The Bay Area was represented by 45 walkers at the Sacramento Walk for PKD on September 21. The Bay Area contingent raised almost $20,000 in donations to

find a cure for PKD. We are proud that:
 - the “San Francisco Team” was the top team fundraiser with almost $11,000;
 - two people from the Bay Area, Mark Glaser and Kim Kupferer raised more than
    $3,000 each;
 - Bay Area team, “Hillie and Kim's Team Transplant”, was awarded the most
    spirited team;
 - Bay Area team, “A Lotta Mazzottas - West!”, was awarded the team with
    the best sign.

We are already making plans to host a 2009 Walk for PKD in the Bay Area. If you are interested in volunteering to help, contact Susan or David at (415) 826-6105, email us at
sanfranciscochapter@pkdcure.org, or attend the chapter meeting on November 15.

We want to thank local Bay Area companies for their generous donations-in-kind for the Walk for PKD. Berkeley artist Howard Penner designed the banner for the San Francisco Chapter and Barry Ferrari, Site Manager at IKON Office Solutions in San Jose, had it printed. Erin Storm, Field Market Manager for Bally Total Fitness in Danville, donated gifts and prizes.

Even if you couldn't make the trip, please continue to fundraise for the San Francisco Team at the Sacramento Walk anyway! Let’s do all we can to find a cure, fundraising is easier than you think! Visit the Sacramento walk page and continue to support the fight against PKD.

San Francisco Chapter Off to a Great Start!

Since May, we have hosted two educational seminars, a meeting about advocacy, and participated in the Walk for PKD in Sacramento. We welcome you to join us. Together we are making a difference in the lives of those affected by PKD, especially future generations!

If you are not on our list now, call 1-800-PKD-CURE. Contact us at sanfranciscochapter@pkdcure.org to let us know what chapter activities you would like to see and what you would like to volunteer for.

We are also looking for a place in San Francisco that we can use for our chapter meetings on a regular basis.

Unsure of how you can help? Let us know what you love to do and we will find the perfect fit. Contact Susan or David at 415-826-6105 or by email at
